Eosi are long lived beasts, their years could span infinitely in theory. However aging does plague their bodies much like every other creature with far shorter lifespans.
As a result many, at some eventual point in their lives will dedicate themselves to their magic, often retiring from herd functions, sometimes even leaving the herd itself for solitude.
Studies become an obsession, eventually a dedicated calling will emerge from among the elements and they will focus on this.

Sometimes.. Through this study they ascend.


The results of ascension are very astral in nature. Essentially the Eosi has taken so much magic of a specific type into itself that its physical body can no longer maintain itself in its natural state.
Ascended Eosi will change in appearance, drastically. Their physical forms will become more extravagant and elemental in nature.
Eosi that study nature may become entirely crafted of forest elements, an eosi dedicated to water may appear opaque and gain the ability to disperse into the sea.
No matter their element, their over all image will become far more grand and impressive as a result of the amount of magic contained within them.

But the cost is great as well. Ascended eosi no longer fit herd life. Their grasp of greater things leaves them less inclined to care about the every day. Even going so far as to ignore wars, plagues ect as simple trials of life.
They can no longer breed, as their bodies are no longer made of simple biological machinery.


Ascended eosi are a rare sight. both because ascension is vastly difficult, but also because they are elusive in nature. Preferring their dedication to their element, over everything else.
