I'm thinking of starting a dragon-series. A while back me and my friend started thinking about different types of dragons, and we came up with a few. I started drawing the dragons and took inspiration from different climates and pre-existing animals.
The World they live is an alternate universe where dragons evolved just like other animals and are very common in the World.
I'll be posting sketches and a few complete paintings/drawings of the dragons, and I'll also list the species information down below like habitat, eating habits, relations to eachother and relations to humans.
This dragon in particular is inspired by the Angler-fish. It lives deep down at the ocean floor and hunts other types of fish using a glowing ball attatch to their head.
It lacks wings, but have large finns and a large tail that helps them move. They can also choose what color their finns glow, or even to glow at all. Usually they don't glow in the dark for camoflage reasons, but change their colors rapidly when feeling threatened or attracting mates.
It mates once a year during the summer when the water is warmer and lays thousands of eggs. They don't interact with other dragons unless it's mating season, and are generally passive towards humans.
Humans tries to hunt them for ages, but because they are difficut to locate in the dark and they live in such remote areas, only a few have been captured.
