In recent weeks, the growing number of Pokemon requests has been difficult for us to ignore. For a while now, we have been developing a product that would encourage a Pokemon transformation based on a persons personality and other factors. We'd used parts of the 'Spirit Animal' treatment, a process which detects a persons base traits and instincts. However, Pokemon are infinitely harder to replicate than animals. Finding samples of Pokemon DNA is our world is nearly impossible, and attempts to recreate them are usually lacking. One of the harder aspects for us to recreate is the potential to evolve into different variant of the same species. Understanding this, we put out a call for Pokemon subjects, hoping they could help us gather information and resources to help us tackle this issue. Ms. Annabelle was someone who answered our call. A young Eevee woman. Now, in the Pokemon world, Eevee is a very interesting creature. Naturally, it can evolve into a variety of different versions. If we can understand Eevee, I'm confident we can learn the secrets of Pokemon evolution and apply them to our treatment.
Dr. Penny and Dr. Grey worked together on this project, taking samples from Ms. Annabelle (with her consent and compensation for her time, of course) in hopes to further our research. During this time, we had a number of theories. We also, for the first time ever, had a chance to accurately test our own treatment. For example, if we used our treatment on Ms. Annabelle and she remained an Eevee, we could confirm a certain degree of accuracy. We explained our hypothesis to Ms. Annabelle, and had her test one of our Pokemon treatments. The treatment, which is designed to work like a Pokeball, completed it's task with odd results. Ms. Annabelle shifted, her fur becoming paler, green highlights appearing, as well as soft cottony fluff. A leaf like texture washed over her ears and tail. She didn't really register as a known Pokemon. Having looked over the data, it appears our treatment attempted to turn Ms. Annabelle into a Whimsicott. The grass type of this Pokemon simultaneously triggered an evolution into a Leafon, and Ms. Annabelle somehow wound up stuck in the middle. The type of treatment Ms. Annabelle tested is only a temporary one, and we're confident she'll be back to her old Eevee self in no time. However, this has given us a lot to think about...
Pokemon, Leafeon, Whimsicott and Eevee all belong to Nintendo.
