Sketchwork and digital texturing and undercolors for a piece in progress.
Will be printing this out and going over it again with paints by hand.
In Photoshop, I floated in and curved some fur texture in on a transparent layer.
I'm not sure if it'll show through, or how it will inform the actual painting when I get to it.
I probably could've made it more visible, but since I'm still tinkering with this method, I don't
want to go too far with it on a commission.
This is all a development of painting over cut paper collages, I'm trying to gain more control
over the inserted textures and tones under the painting. Doing it digitally, instead of with
scissors and gel medium is just a progression.
Image made for commission for jackpot who already has a charming couple of images
that he's commissioned from folks of his donkey character painting, which wins points with me

Interesting. I would be surprised if the fur texture shows through. Right now, it looks more like scratches on the surface or very light pencil marks. Since you obviously already know how the fur flows, I'm sure you could just add it back on top of the paint with colored pencil. Perhaps if you want it to show through, make that layer in PS a really high contrast grayscale image, use it like the old master underpaintings and just tint it. Dunno! But you don't need help. You're amazing as is! :"D
