Terrible scan, but my scanner is made of epic fail at the moment. Doesn't help either that I had to piece this together from five separate scans. It still doesn't quite sync up right, but you get the general idea of what this concept is. I hope.
Plan to dabble a little in a more art nouveau like theme/style for awhile. This is sketched on watercolor paper. I just need the time to paint it and then ink in some of the lines. I just have this sinking feeling I'm going to botch it somehow. It's been so long since I've touched watercolors.
Anyways. Flowers in the background are gladiolas, btw (along the bottom, dunno what I did for the ring...lol). So I have some colors to play with. Mainly oranges, reds, yellows and pinks.
Anyone want to suggest background colors? :3 I was kind of thinking of summer when I sketched this, so. Hmm.
And the pose was eye referenced from a stock gallery on DA under the username Twittey: twittey.deviantart.com NOTE: NSFW!! Lots of nude models.

OMG this looks AMAZING so far! I think the neauveu concept is made of win. =) Funny thing is I'm working on a piece right now at this very moment that is based on some art neauveu. It always turns out so pretty and its fun to color too.
As far as background goes, maybe something that contrasts well with all the oranges and pinks...so maybe something like a soft blue. The green in her wings will really tie it all together nicely. That's just my two cents...you may get that far and find that something else works much better.
Can't wait to see it finished. =D

This is an extraordinary example of sketch work on your behalf, it reminds me that you are one of the top people on my list of getting a piece of artwork from, your style is wonderfully detailed and has a very spiritual feel to it. The emotion in the simple expression is incredibly lifelike, I'm caught stunned looking at it, even in this simple of a stage.
Please do not ever cease to share your graceful gift with us here.

I have a huge, HUGE, love for art nouveau. And yet it never crossed my mind to actually try it until now. Go figure! XD And I can't wait to see your finished result as well!! <3
Hmm, a soft blue may work really nicely. I had thought of summer while drawing this (gladiolas are my birth month flower, which is August). So some nice blue wouldn't be too hard to work in at all. Hee!!
I should have it finished soon. I just like to devote a day or a good portion of a day to painting. Nothing bugs me more then to have to stop and wait a day to get back to it. D:

This'll be beautiful. I love the arrangement and harmony of this piece, and I def. thought of Nouveau before even seeing the title!
The way you're doing the linework on the outside more...angular? I don't know. And the inside less solid, works very well. The flowers on her arm and the drape of the fabric are both gorgeous but the background is incredible ;-;
I can't wait to see this done.
