I've spent a lot of time over the past year trying to translate furry artwork into 3D, and something I've kept coming across is how many furry artists integrate eyes into the rest of the head. Or rather how they don't.
It seems to be a case of how they learned to draw, and whether they started with the cartoonists approach of 'draw a circle <snip> and put the eyes where you think they look right'. This helps you draw quickly, and there's nothing wrong with that, or sticking with cartoony drawing as an artistic choice. But when you have super detailed and accurate anatomy and shading and perspective in the rest of the picture, then it can look odd if the eyes are in the right place, but not quite attached to anything.
Sure it's tricky adapting human eye geometry on species that have radically different face geometry, but it can be fun to try, whether in 2D or 3D. Think of this as a sunday prompt to maybe reexamine either how you draw or how you look at art. :)
