Archaeologists were uncovering the secret rooms of an ancient castle somewhere in Italy, when they found a giant wax statue of a cougar sleeping among shelves. The heat, letted into the hall by scientists, woke her up, and so Blackwax Puma woke up. In the old language she spoke to the people (with inaccurate translation (twice):
Hello, humans. If the dark would not calm the hot wax boiling in my gut, you would be dead. But you gave me a taste of air, and now you will meekly make way for me to become free. You will live. Thanks for the manuscripts that gave me knowledge about the world, about you, about your gods and wars.
And Puma passed by the stuned archeologists. She, knowing the plan of the castle from the antient blueprints, quietly left it, going free under the light of the sun for the first time in her life.
Soon she realized that almost all the knowledge she had gained was outdated, if not a lie. And one of the demonic candles on her back flared with evil fire. She later met people trying to kill her, and they lit a second candle. Now on the back of the Puma four out of nine candles are already burning, and she tears up any person she meets. Demonic hatred of humanity, extinct in Puma over 8 centuries, wakes up, awakening in her cruelty and strength.
More candles burn, more the Puma is hungry. She absorbs fat, blood and wood (sometimes grass). All of this her body grinds into wax. The more she eats, the bigger becomes.
She is interested in all the knowledge of the world, she quickly learns languages alive and dead for reading books. She can't go past libraries and bookstores: Puma is stuck in them until she reads everything new and everything original. She tries not to get involved with people and not to fall into them until she is hungry, so she travels around the cities at night in semi-liquid form.
Let us return to the very scientists that released the Blackwax Puma into the light. There were six of them. Four survived and continued to study the library. One died after meeting Puma: his heart could not stand. Another one went after the beast, but immediately lost her track. He was obsessed with finding her and did not return to work. He devoted his whole life to the search for the Blackwax Puma. He is considered to be missing.
As for the rest. In the study of the library, they put together the theory that Puma was called by a warlock. Archaeologists soon found his burnt remains in the same room along with the remains of his offerings, among which there was a big cat. Judging by his books, manuscripts (some of which could not be translated) and paraphernalia, he called for a beast-like demon, but he did a mistake somewhere. It cost him his life and creating the Puma from the demonic energy.
One of the scientists refused to believe in the reality of the incident. In his explanation, it was a group hallucination due to toxic fumes. He continued his career, although it became more stressful for him. Nightmares and mental problems became а part of his life.
Two more scientists continued their work, but not for long. Mental health brought them to hospitals in 10 years after meeting the Puma. There they remained. The last archaeologist lived a long life. And although his reputation in the scientific community left much to be desired, he continued to explore and met more than one creature, similar to the Blackwax Puma in his life. Her name she received from him.
