Now we get to something I've had in my head for awhile. If you read the story, you'll see I'm not mad at Kalea. I never could be me to my darling sea otter.
Before we get into that, Depths needs help still

Island Otter and Male
Discovery
Rain then came to the island and so that meant not much was done until it passed. After a few days, the weather cleared up and now it found Nicholas and Kalea walking around and seeing how the place looked after the weather had come through. “So new,” she said at one point.
“You mean how things look?” he asked and the female nodded. “Well at least I was inside. I hate being rained on.”
“But it feel good,” the otter insisted.
“You would say differently if you were me,” he shot back with a smirk. Kalea giggled.
“It good for things,” she said.
“I agree with you, but not when I’m getting wet like that.”
He wasn’t watching where he was going which was why the fosky didn’t see the object in his way sticking up hazardously. It got his foot and tripped him good. “MOTHER-!” Nicholas yelled, and almost dropped the rest of the curse word as he went falling forward. Only by catching a nearby tree branch did he stop himself from falling face first into the ground.
Kalea saw this and got concerned with her paws up. “Oh goddess!” she stated. “You okay?!”
“Yeah…” Nicholas grunted and got back on his feet. “What the hell was that?”
They looked back and saw the object. It appeared to be some kind of tube. “That’s odd…” the fosky said. “Here, help me dig it up.”
The two went to work and it wasn’t long before it was above ground. Looking showed it was small, big enough for a document or small object. There was a latch that kept it shut and rusted up. “What is it?” Kalea asked, knowing enough English to say that.
“Not sure…” The long-haired male pulled out a small tool that could help. They set the object up on a rock and Kalea held it down as hard as she could while Nicholas banged at the latch. A few hits managed to knock it loose so the thing could be opened. The guy did so and pulled out an old document. He carefully unfolded it due to the age and it wouldn’t take much to rip it. The writing was still legible.
“Well now…” the guy said. “This is something. We’d better get back to my captain and the chieftain here with this. Come on Kalea.” Placing the document carefully back in the tube, the two made their way back to the village.
The next day, Sachem, Leilani, Kalea, Malana, Nicholas, Remy, and their captain were meeting in the ruler otter’s hut. The fosky had taken the time to read the writing on the document and knew what it said. “It’s old English, but I was able to figure out what it says,” he told them. “This seems to be a map in writing leading to something. What though, I can’t say.”
“Quite a find, no?” the coyote in the group asked.
“And judging from the date I can say this is quiet old. I asked a crew member who’s knowledgeable in this kind of felid. This dates from the 17th to the 18th century and it’s real.”
Even Malana looked interested. “Are there any stories of visitors here passed down?” the captain asked Sachem.
“Some,” the other otter replied. “Others who came; good and bad.”
“It might be possible pirates came here to this island,” Nicholas said. “This might have been something left behind by them.”
“What it say?” Malana then asked.
“It give directions leading to some place. If we follow it, I think we might find something.”
It was decided that the three ladies would go with the guys and Sachem would stay behind. They promised if anything was found they would bring it back to him. A couple days were spent packing and preparing for it. A couple of the other crew members were coming along as well. The small group met up early on the day of. Leilani, Malana, and Kalea led the way. At certain points the first two females would bicker and argue which way was better and what they knew was right. Kalea, Nicholas, and Remy had to calm them down. Luckily the clues on the document were easy to follow. A couple stops and breaks were taken. Finally, the group reached their destination; a small cave that was well known by the three ladies. The group went inside with flashlights helping them see. “I know this place,” Leilani said. “All otters here do.”
“It doesn’t make sense for someone to hide something here,” the captain said. The place was small and had a dirt floor.
“Not necessarily,” Nicholas stated. “The otters here at the time might not have known about it and discovered this place latter. If there is something it would probably be buried. Also that tube me and Kalea found was nearby this place. So it’s gotta be here.”
A quick look showed that on the surface there were some glittering rocks here. Leilani took one of the flashlights while Malana and Kalea stood to the side. Nicholas took a careful look at the document found. “Seems were at the right spot,” the fosky said. He turned to one of the other crew members. “Now then, hand me a shovel.”
The fosky began to dig right about in the center of the place just as it said on the document. He managed to get some scopes out and placed them to the side. “This tense,” Malana said to Remy.
“Indeed,” he agreed. “Now we see if this is worth it.”
A minute went by with Nicholas digging deeper and making the hole a little wider. The dirt was loose now and easy to shift through. “Anything yet?” the captain asked him.
“No,” the long-haired male replied just as shovel went down. They all then heard the thud of it hit something. It sounded like metal and wood being hit together. Everyone looked up at each other.
“Wait a minute…” Nicholas hit the spot again with his shovel and began to dig there. Everyone else gathered around him. The male got an opening big enough and dropped the tool so he could reach in with his paws. He pulled out a strongbox that was medium size and showed signs of rusting.
“We found it!” the long-haired male declared excitedly. Remy let out a whoop while Leilani and the captain hugged each other. Malana and Kalea did with each other as well and the other crew members gave the guys hi-fives.
“Let’s get this back to the chieftain,” one of them said.
Soon they were at his hut and telling him about it. Sachem looked interested and the object was brought out. “Let’s open it,” Leilani said.
This proved to be hard even with the captain trying with a knife. “It’s no good,” he grunted. “It’s all rusted up.”
“Stop,” the fosky said. “You’ll only snap the blade if you keep trying. Better try this case opener.” He brought one out while saying that.
Nicholas, Remy, and Sachem provided holding power while the captain otter used the new tool to open it. “Hold it still,” the second otter told them as he tried different areas where the slit was on the strongbox.
“We are, keep goi-“ began the coyote when suddenly there was an almighty crack as the thing was opened.
“GOT IT!” the captain declared. Everyone gathered around and saw what was inside.
“Wait… these are,” one of the crew members said as Nicholas pulled one of the items out.
“These are old documents,” he said. “They’ve been half eaten away by damp.”
“No treasure,” Remy commented. He then shrugged with a grin. “Oh well, this was fun, no?” Everyone was muttering amongst themselves. Nicholas took another look at the document he had grabbed. He noticed the writing was in the same style as the first thing he and Kalea had found. There was more to this. The strongbox was closed and handed over to the fosky to be put away. Everyone then went their own way, but the long-haired male thought back to these documents. He found the crewmember who had helped him with the first item and they talked about these. It was time to get to work.
Nicholas got so busy, Kalea didn’t see him the next day. She asked those with him about it. “You know, I have noticed that,” Remy said.
“We haven’t seen him since that time,” the captain of the ship replied. “He’s been in his room most of the time.”
A couple more days then passed. “What is up with him?” the coyote asked. “He’s hardly left his room for three days.” What they didn’t know was that Nicholas and the other crew member were carefully going over the documents. What they were finding was surprising.
Finally after five days Nicholas came out of his room with the same person, and found Remy to talk to him. “There you are,” the coyote said. “I thought you had died or something.”
“Har har,” the fosky replied sarcastically before turning serious. “I’ve been busy with those documents we found.”
“The ones from the strong box?”
“Yep. Both of us have gone over them and they seem to match the first item found,” the other crew member said. “The writing is the same on both.”
“And what’s more we’ve tried sticking them together on pieces of paper,” Nicholas said, pulling one out from a special holder and handing it over to Remy. “It looks like these are from an old diary. Parts are completely unreadable while others are easy to figure out. I believe that one will interest some people.”
The coyote read it and his eyebrows went up. “I think so to!” he declared. “Come on!” The three rushed to find Sachem, the ladies, and the captain of their ship.
They were all soon gathered in the same hut and the captain was reading it out loud. “This is fascinating!” he stated. It was from a pirate captain who had once sailed these waters and his ship had crashed right here near this island. It matched with a story Sachem had heard told before by grandparents and from others passed down from generation to generation. The otter ladies had heard it to.
“Keep reading!” Nicholas said with Malana, Kalea, and Leilani all looking on like this was a tasty fish ready to be eaten. They were excited to as was the chieftain. Finally at the end of the document appeared to be some coordinates.
“A latitude and longitude!” the captain declared.
“Telling us where the ship’s resting!” Nicholas concluded. Everyone cheered and did a little happy jig in celebration.
“So what now?” the crew member who had helped the fosky asked.
“Well we must go find it,” the captain said. He turned to Sachem, Leilani, Malana, and Kalea. “Would any of you like to help us?” The three otter ladies were all for it. “Of course don’t worry Sachem. I would like to ask you first if it’s okay. This is near a place you rule. And I think it’s only fair that most of what is found is given to your tribe. But a little should go to me and my crew.”
The male ruler smiled. “Of course,” Sachem answered. “No problem at all.” It was decided how the treasure would be chosen by the crew would be done latter. But now an adventure awaited for them and the otter ladies. They knew this would be fun.
