So I was trying to assemble a PDF of BIG Funnies #7 for a Patreon Perk. It was slow going, because the files were scattered over piles of old CDs, DVDs and Zip disks. Never did find one of the stories.
But I did find a big ole pile of long-forgotten photos and art. For example, here's one Kishma Kline (the one in the Zebra costume) sent me of herself and Lisa Sample. It's from the early 1990's, I think?
Gave me a big nostalgia hit. Kishma is gone now, and I haven't heard much of or from Lisa since her stroke. Time flies so damn fast!

If not for the fans of my work I'd feel completely alone. People are too politically charged anymore for me to make newer friends online.
Old photos from my own past wash over me the same way.
Maybe its my age but I sure do miss the past at times but the future is certain growing for the community.
You keep up your great work as well.
Do you still actually have a Zip drive? I've got several (100, 250 and 750MB). I have converted Zip disks to CDs and DVDs for folks. I also have a Jaz drive with a bunch of old backup disks -- from Enron!
I talk to Lisa on a regular basis--her, Ken, and Wolf Kidd are active on Discord, and the latter two stream on Picarto a couple times a week. She's recovering steadily; the aphasia is far less acute than it used to be, and she's working towards drawing again, though her right side is still weak.
watching YT vids on prosthetic masks makes me imagine how much work they are even with modern materials. but it still beats a "lifeless" face, IMO. :)
(though some people seem to stumble into uncanny valley with such realistic animal people faces... *shrugs*)
There weren't so many degenerates back then.
I will call it "My Struggle".
I imagine it will be very popular in Germany.
if you can read german I could recommend "Er Ist Wieder Da!" to read.
THe picture is from the 1996 con, and the lion is Tanamin, Kishma’s other boy who lived with her and Ed.
I miss her...
Hope you're doing well.
