Cosmonaut Comets Prishela Neznovna [ANIMATED] - By Sherha...
Wonderful
Sherharon is helping me make this new character. 💖👍
Aside from the Punny Name i still have to define stuff about this character.
Something like "newcomer stranger" in Russian: "пришелец незнакомец".
It also sounds like something connected to space in English, because people will think "comets" must be the english word, instead of just the "punny breakup" of "newcomer" from Russian.
I kinda tried to make it sound like the name is structured like normal Russian name, with a patronymic and everything.
I... think actual Russians will find the name obnoxious, but... meh. Can't have everything. I'm still trying to make Russian puns even though i don't speak a single word of Russian, and am working with google translate. 😅

I have no idea what you said but it sounds like the name of somebody who would be the child of "newcomer stranger".
That could work too... but i was looking at a "really bad pun" thanks for making it into a nice name. If she ever gets herself a daughter (somehow) she's name her Donara.

this version of the name. That would sound relatively authentic. But can be used as the name of the daughter.
Незнакомова - surname based on "newcomer"
Донэра (дочь новой эры/daughter of a new era) - The name, invented in the Soviet Union.
Пришелец (stranger) - the word was used as a surname, but you can make an exception for the middle name.
Some names in the USSR were very strange

Eh... yeah.
Basically reading what happened on the first EVA ever in space makes me horrified too. 😅
Dude had to expell his own air from his own space suit which his spacesuit was NOT designed to do... in order to get back inside the "ball".
Damn. That was... harrowing to even think of.

Read up on Soyuz 1. Yuri Gagarin did a preflight exam of the vehicle, and found more then 100 problems. He felt so terrified for the friend and family man slated for Soyuz he offered to take his place. Both out of similar feelings toward Gagarin, and knowledge of what their government would do to a man who refused this mission at the last minute, he turned him down. The picture of the fused mass they recovered of him is heart-wrenching.
The program once gutted their brain trust by accident. A major party bigshot had devised a new fuel, and was sitting far too close to it's first test rocket because he was had such confidence in it. Not wanting to seem like they doubted an official who literally had their lives in his hands, everyone else moved in too and was incinerated when the rocket blew up.
Those are just the sorts of things we have in surviving records! There have been hints of early capsules that either burnt up or skipped off on reentry interface, and exemplary program members with edited service records, their presence carefully removed in retouched group photos.

To be fair... The comic talks about how Prishela was sent in space to show that the russians could send robots as intelligent as human beings in space.
Except... once in space... she got her joints vacuum-welded because they skimped on the oxygen since she was not human.
So she got free when her orbit slowly degenerated, and she fell from orbit.
I mean, she is quite sturdy, but she still gets damaged, which is why she tries to fix herself (unsuccessfully) in the comic.
