This is something that affects me greatly. I was, coincidentally arguing about what is called "patrimoine bâtit" in french a few days ago. About if you restore a building is it still keeping it's authenticity value or not. This is a lost of a wonder, religion aside, I wish you all to visit it when it is rebuilded!

Don't worry about it :O It'll be rebuilt, it was just getting old and the dry wood used in its timber supports were prime fuel for the fire. Also this is minor stuff compared to what happened in its long history; like the original statues being beheaded and being turned into an atheistic temple during the French Revolution. Or having its original windows smashed during the 1500s by protestants :o
