[[NOT MY ART]]Of Dragons and Dracology: Kilnalek - Vol. I
In a previous meeting I had with dragon friend Ijzer, he mentioned an acquaintance of his whom would also like to be studied and documented. Given the pleasant, though a little harrowing, experience I had with Ijzer, I was all too overjoyed to agree to meeting the purple dragon's friend. Enter Kilnalek! Kilnalek is a male, orange-scaled dragon, who happens to be larger than any other dragon I have met, save for one. He is also the third dragon I know who has orange scales! I honestly never expected I would get to know so many dragons, let alone three of them with orange scales! I recall there being a distinct lack of orange dragons on my home world, but it's nice to see so many different variations of the scaled beasts from world to world across the multiverse.
Regardless, both Kilnalek and I were eager to get started with the research, so I set out to start my thorough examination of the gargantuan orange. Unsurprisingly, Kilnalek's scales were much larger and harder than Ijzer's. They were less flexible, as well, save for the plates that lined the dragon's belly. The plates, oddly enough, could stretch to accommodate an incredibly large meal, not unlike a snake. Not that I could image the dragon eating such a meal! Certainly Kilnalek has never indulged his appetite that much...
The great orange proved to be much more a tease than his purple friend. For example, when it came time to examine his great hind paws, he raised one over me and threatened to press it down upon me! I would have been utterly smooshed beneath such a huge foot, and more than once did Kilnalek teasingly make the motion to press it down upon me! Still, as I stared at the wrinkled sole looming above me, some part of me did long for it to make contact with my skin... Just watching those meaty toes flex and dance before my eyes was nearly an unbearable tease, though I couldn't help but fear for my life! Deep down, I think Kilnalek knew that I was both excited and scared, and his teasing only intensified the more I studied him.
I got this lovely piece from
ijzer, who draws lovely dragons and has a wonderful style! Go check out his page and give him some love! He deserves it!
I love me some big dragons, and after getting some sketches done with Danathius and Ijzer, I had to get some done with Kilnalek as well. Thankfully,
ijzer was all too willing to oblige!
