Predators of Denali - p10
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT>>>
Page 10 - Tala and Bailey set off for the wolf ceremony. Had fun doing some of these backgrounds, and coming up with some traditions for the tribes.
Predators of Denali is set on and around Denali, Alaska, the largest mountain in North America. It is a F/F/M comic estimated to be around 48pages or so. It is still in-progress, approx. 20 pages ahead of the posting now, on my Patreon. I'll publicly post a page at the same rate they're made, about twice a month.
Thank-you to my Patreon supporters for making this comic possible! Supporting me on Patreon lets you see the comic early, as-it's-made, and in HD, but will be posted uncensored in entirety for free publicly at a lower res, and in physical print later.

You know I had my own idea for traditions with the Tamelite people in my story Krown, a wolf like race that live in plains that is the source of the world's metal but is inhospitable to all but the packs of Tamelite nomads.
In the story Tamelite children do not come of age alone. The day of birth is never actually tracked, as it does not actually act as useful information. Rather children reach adulthood in packs. This shared day of becoming an adult, the 'pack day', is a tradition that came about to help ensure Tamelite people would remember their greatest strength comes from the knowledge and the burden they share as a whole.
Typically children that reach adult hood do so by assembling a pack together. This pack must as one seek to reach adulthood. Once the pack is formed they commemorate the bond formed with celebration.
But it is not as simple as it sounds. The act of forming a pack and thus reaching adulthood is in and of itself the test. For this requires one to be able to find like minded peers, understand what a pack is, and make sure that those they become a pack with regardless number or status are ones they can trust and cooperate with.
For the strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf.

These guys are missing the point of so much of their ancient wisdom.
Water flows where it wills. Yes, the river may be birthed at the summit, and die in the sea, but how long the road in between may be, is for each person to decide for themselves. Deny that, and you render meaningless the symbols you profess to worship.
