Gone But Never Forgotten
A couple days late on this, because it seems I can never meet deadlines. But too many anniversaries have gone by without me drawing anything for it, and I call myself a Titanic fan!
For those who hadn't heard, Monday marked the 107th anniversary of the RMS Titanic's death, along with the 1500 passengers and crew that couldn't escape the sinking.
I've been crazy about Titanic since I was a kid, watched VHS recordings of documentaries obsessively when I was little, played the Titanic Adventure out of Time game over and over (lets play of that done recently on my channel too btw). Thing is, unless you've actually tried, drawing ships is a lot harder then drawing cars.. lots of weird angles and the increased size makes perspective play a lot more into it which makes this difficult. Plus in the past it was always hard to draw anything in my style of Titanic because a full-anthro ship would look just.... horrendous.. so short of that what can I do but stick some eyes and a mouth on her? Seemed almost pointless..
Well I finally made myself do it and I'm actually pretty happy with how it came out. Just simple Titanic, a baby ship practically, no idea of how almost comically soon her life would be cut short. Anthropomorphizing her has me wondering if her voice would have an Irish or a British accent. She was owned by the British, but she was born in Belfast Ireland. Honestly I think the idea of her having a quaint lil Irish accent is adorable.
A line from Lee Ann Womack, a favorite singer of mine, always rings pretty strong with Titanic to me. It goes "-You gotta die to be famous" and Titanic and her two sisters Britannic and Olympic are the perfect example of that. As sad as it is what happened, Titanic would never be as remembered and ironically.. immortal.. as she is if she hadn't perished so infamously.
Her sisters went on to serve in WW1, literal vehicular veterans, and while Britannic got some fame for also sinking due to hitting a mine in the war. Olympic lived a full life but even being the last surviving Olympic-Class sister she was unceremoniously scrapped when her service life was up.. the only time she's ever mentioned is when Titanic snobs want to point out that "excuse me that footage/photograph there is said to be Titanic but it's actually Olympic nnnnegghh"
Annnyway, my point is that her tragedy is sad on so many levels, but in a way she's become immortal because of it and will go on to inspire and fascinate generations onwards, and that's quite the legacy.

Interesting to read, and overall acknowledge all what you said there.
Seems you definitely have been for a long time interested in Titanics timelapse when it existed while it existed.
Many topics as these does bring me too a lot of fascination of how they ended up being done, and lived as like, and so on, nevermatter if the whole honesty could be, that they all are just one part of existence, like we, civilisations create history, all the time, while we breathe, and newer generations gets something to read about those, and future will be more evolved, and all that we do atm, will affect our future, in many ways as possible, ways that we probably could not imagine, due to our physical level states where we concentrate to our feelings, or so, but not at all like so called "outside the box" style thinking.
Nevermatter, i am a bit interested to offer some other like boat to draw if you are fine with it.
You see, there was also a ship in Finland, where i live, called M/S Estonia, which was called to be a tragedy too, and somewhat interesting too.
There are some videos of the conversations between the communication center, and ships crew.
many passed away during that event, when it sank, the ship.
But, i at least suggest you to check out what that ship was like, what the history of it too was, etc. M/S Estonia.September 28th 1994 was the date when it sank.

*Bruce Ismay strutting past with this pimp cane* "My my fine ship indeed isn't she my boy? You look like the kind of fellow who might fancy courting such a ship is that right? The White Star Line is always looking to please. If you have a moment or two my fine sir it would be my pleasure to arrange a casual meeting." *tips his bowler hat*
