This IS my happy face!
I haven't worked on "Jolson & Jones" for almost six months now. One reason was that the work on "Pico" had kept me way way busier than I ever imagined, so most of my "creative" free-time was eaten up by that. The other reason was... well... I'm not even that sure if I want to return to it. The themes I have been tackling in it actually bum me out more and more in real life, so dealing with them even more in my comics is, frankly, a strain on my mental health, I'm afraid.
However, that being said, there's less of that on the next 40 pages or so and it's mostly just absurdist treasure hunting instead of pseudo-political shenanigans (that tends to be a bit too on the nose, but ah well). So... I don't knooow? Though I do know that I hate the case of "unfinished business". And ending a comic halfway through its run, and halfway through a running storyline feels rather wrong to me. Not to mention that it's also a disservice to the characters - and the readers. (Though... are there really that many that read it, let alone even are waiting for it to continue? I have no idea, I'm not them! D: But if you do, please let me know.)
Either way, with that in mind I made this quick little strip here, outside the continuity, just focussing on my two waffs. Because, after all, I do love them and I do love drawing them. And also miss them.

Well, for better or worse, after uploading this, I spent the afternoon sketching out a future page, because I couldn't figure out what else to do in that moment. So... I guess, not all hope is lost then?
A print version is something I loosely have in my head, actually. But... most likely not before the whole thing is over, because I'd rather see all the pages in one big continuous book. And since the whole thing should be roughly a little over 300 pages long when it's time, it'll probably take a looong while until I get there. We'll see, we'll see.
