"Polyp! It's time to go."
"Just a moment," the sea-lioness sighed. She didn't need any more interruptions. Taking Marina's hands, she forced a smile, saying, "Look, it won't be long. Barely a moon!"
Marina looked unconvinced. Her large white eyes narrowed at a slant, face worried. Who could blame her? When the whales sung, it was a call regardless. When their pitches were high and frightful, it meant war. And the scouts of their reef needed to investigate. Polyp included.
"I'll be fine. I'll keep safe," she promised. At Marina's facial change, she added, "Look, as safe as I can be. But I needed to get going."
Polyp cupped her hands on both sides of Marina's face and placed a kiss atop her head. She was shaking. Poor little jellyfish. Polyp shot Marina one last assured look, then joined her captain. They joined the others and took off beyond the ridge.
Hopefully, Polyp would be home soon...
