Looking like a couple of retirees enjoying the Warm California Sun, the little "Double Ender" named "Charley Atkins" and the #56 Baldwin await their next call to action. The Charley Atkins is named after the original founder of Travel Town, and often serves as the prime mover in shuttling the locomotives and rolling stock around the park. It also serves occasionally as a power source for air compressors and arc welders as needed.

Ah! One of these day I need to do research on how to start a large diesel engine like the Fairbanks-Morse 38 8-1/8 opposed piston type. One of the running gags in my Steamfox stories is that Mr. T. J. Foxx has a Love/hate relationship with the No. 3 Diesel generator. When the engine is running nicely, it's great, but somehow the machine always seems to find some way to squirt oil on him, especially if he's wearing his last, good shirt.
