The Commandos were desperate.
Minutes had passed since Dingodile vanished in the dark abyss of the temple.
The seven remaining were looking for a door, a fissure, a hole, anything that would allow them to get in the temple and try to help their comrade.
Suddenly, a strange sensation, like a shockwave that shook souls, crossed them for a few seconds.
In the Wumpa Islands, Aku Aku fell on the ground.
"Aku Aku!!"
The mask rose back, wobbling.
"He... No, it can't be... He... He's dead?!"
"Dead?! Who's dead?!" panicked Coco.
Aku Aku didn't answer. He instead tried again to call upon the contact portal.
This time, it worked.
"But where the hell were you?!" barked Pinstripe when he saw the portal reappear.
"We were blocked!" protested Coco.
"Blocked?! By what?!"
"By Py-Ro," whispered Aku Aku, as he saw the temple and his fears confirmed.
"Who?!"
"An evil spirit who was sealed in this temple."
"You mean that Dingodile got trapped by this spirit?!" yelped Rilla.
"What do you mean?!"
"Dingodile fell in the temple because of a weird quake!"
The mask cringed.
"He felt your presence and did the few he could to try and push you to free him. He's a master of fire, a pyromaniac like Dingodile would be of a special interest for him..."
"You mean he's going to trick him?!" exclaimed angrily Kong.
"I don't know. I felt the link I had with him, as fellow spirits, be broken. It can only mean one thing: he's dead."
"So Dingodile killed him?"
"I don't see another explanation."
"Ha! In his face!" cheered Tiny.
"That doesn't solve the problem of how to get in there and help Dingodile!" protested Ripper.
"You're right," replied Aku Aku. "We must..."
A strange noise, coming from the temple, interrupted them.
"What now?!"
The noise kept rising in intensity, a great rumble, as if the temple was collapsing from the inside.
Cracks appeared on the temple, widened, spread...
Everyone wisely stepped back a bit.
The temple seemed to bulge, then to explode.
And everyone, Commandos, Bandicoots, mask and critters, gaped in astonishment.
For they now could see Dingodile rise out of the temple.
A Dingodile who was now a true giant, taller than the temple, and proudly flexing muscles who were, even if considered proportionally to his size, bigger than Kong's or Tiny's ones.
For a few instants, the hybrid, visibly still growing, kept flexing, clearly loving what was happening to him.
Finally, he looked down and saw the still normal-sized ones.
"Hey mates," he smiled.
"Wah... Bwuh..." stammered the flabbergasted others.
Dingodile pulled a most (VERY most) muscular pose, grunting in pleasure.
They jaw-dropped even more.
"Neat, hey?" he smirked, enjoying their astonishment.
Aku Aku recovered a bit faster, having a precise question to help him focus.
"What happened?!" he exclaimed.
"Well..."
