its just a fur 'sock' stuffed loosely with toy stuffing, sewn to the top of the head :)

So you sewn some faux into a sock like shape, stuffed it a bit, and sewn it on? Just trying to make sure I understand here. I'm trying to make a new suit myself and trying to figure out the best way to go about making hair
