Gene Albus, Orinus's most recent caretaker and mentor, is an eccentric scholar for capital city in his kingdom. He teaches alchemy and engineering; but recently quit the profession to search for a place the crown recently took interest in. Of course, he's doing so without orders from them and even stole a few important documents needed for the search, which has made him into more of an outlaw than a teacher. Even worse, he dragged poor Orinus into it, calling the whole expedition a "field trip".
