Once, the Shrouded possessed a safe haven where the late goddess Hecate protected them and provided them a sustainable afterlife. After the coup implemented by the Pilgrims in order to seize power in the name of their fathers (the Hell's Kings of the layers) the city collapsed. The relics within the walls were salvaged by the heretics had taken to the outreaches of Limbo to provide sanctuary to the wayward and defend against demon-kind.

Now, Pilgrims attempt to seek redemption in a wasteland that can no longer protect them from their ancestors that lurk below. The damned seek refuge from the punishment of their sins and the Shrouded have all but ceased to exist. It is in trying times like these that we must remain steadfast and prepare for the red sun's rise for she will cast our silhouette and protect us from the dark.
