I don't know how well you knew her mother, but if you got on well with her, it might be worth presenting the piece to the girl anyways. As a parting gift to the mother, a final goodbye to the girl, and an easing of your own heart and soul. Then again, I don't know all the details, you might have thought it over several times.

You have a way with making some powerful pieces, and pretty much everything I've ever heard you make, I've loved. This was no exception. There was, as I would describe it, a very spiritual air to the work that connects past memories with the world beyond, and does so powerfully.

I thought about it. I didn’t know her mother but knew she meant a lot to her. Basically she told me she loved me, treated me like she did, and I fell in love with her. After her mom passed she said she needed space, didn’t want anyone around, but that she was not breaking up with me. This went on for four months, during which she slept with several guys, and even had a new boyfriend. Found out from one of her friends she was keeping on the side in case her new boyfriend didn’t work out. In the end I decided against giving her this because I don’t think she’d care, and also she’s a terrible person whom I want nothing more to do with.

Yeah, not knowing her mother, I didn't see any reason to break from your choice. Reading in detail what she had done, man, your a saint for such a kind use of words to describe her. Hopefully the next woman will be the right one.

Though it's amazing you didn't succumb to dark thoughts and wrote an upliftung, powerful composition instead. I would have composed (well I did) a very dark, depressing piece, yet you managed to fight through.

Those kinds of pieces are the best, the ones with a personal connection and a deeper meaning. This pieces perfectly conveys your emotions. I really enjoyed listening to it.
