I'm taking a metalsmithing class this semester! I made this little beast out of copper (sheets and wire of varying gauges, plus some tubing), parrot feathers from my very own birds, a few beads for the eyes, and lots of fire. The only restrictions for the project was that we weren't allowed to solder anything together (hence all of the painstakingly-pounded rivets) and it had to incorporate one or more found objects (hence the feathers). I'm pretty sure I spent over twenty hours making this silly little thing.

It makes me smile.
