It's that time of year again! When the best of the best in Hula gather on the Big Island of Hawaii to compete in the prestigious Merrie Monarch Festival! Whether it be traditional Hula or modern Hula, it's all on display. Who will bring home top honors for their Hula Halau?
Here we have Kekoa and Hilo competing in the Kahiko Kane division AKA Traditional Men's Hula, channeling the Warrior Spirit through their costumes and soon to begin chanting.
Wow, this piece was a long time coming! I'm so glad I was finally able to commission it! It turned out even better than I could have imagined. It's such a privilege being able to share my culture with the rest of you and to have it honored through such amazing art! Huge Mahalo to BGN for this one!
