Oh holy shit, there was this one time I was on a hike in Peru, and I started eating these tiny bromeliads off the trees. One of the guides thought I was chewing gum and ask for some. So I grabbed a few (bromeliads) off the tree and handed them to him and told him this is what I was chewing. He freaked out, because they are toxic or something.

I worry more about tripping over a fat fer-de-lance ............but I wouldn't eat ANYTHING off a tree in the jungle..ya weirdo! LOL!
