To start off Throwback Thursdays, lets go back to early 2018. What you see here is the first ever sketch of my 'sona.
When I made the design, I wanted it to represent who I felt I was as a furry, and how I got there. From the start, I knew I wanted to be a dragon. They always held a special place in my heart, and still do. They're actually the thing that introduced me to the fandom in the first place. I also wanted the design to represent me, and not be some character that I have no connection to. So I put aspects of me into him, like the glasses and hair. The hair style is actually the same one I use whenever I drew myself as a person, which I would do frequently in the margin of notes instead of paying attention in class. The most important part of the design, though, was making it relatively easy and fun to draw. Add these things together, and after a couple of test doodles, you get the final design, which I've mostly stuck with ever since. The only thing I've changed was the bags under the eyes. You can still see them on some of my earliest drawings, like my first few Reddit posts, and even my (now out of date) reference sheet. Beyond that, everything stayed the same, just a bit more polished. There is, however, a second version that I have planned, but that won't show up until I can draw at a level I'm comfortable with.
In terms of design age, my sona relitively new; I'd group it wit Ion, KJ, and Felix, all of whom were made within the past year or so. Jake, however, is a much, much older design. But that's a story for another Thursday.
