Something nice (mostly) that Tep was involved in!
Will be happy to answer questions about Tepkk or Kizz, the Inquest, or even small responses as Tepkk in the comments to other residents of Tyria! This will hopefully be a semi ongoing series as writing as Tepkk and his family has been a good writing exercise.
Tepkk Entry #7
Cookies are nice.
Hello again Sis - been a little busy with my new side job with the new Krewe so sorry about a lack of regular updates. But the last two days have been something different! Something different than trying to avoid being made sick from Zevs cooking or losing my entire morning in seconds in some kind of time loop from Manager Vizz. As you know and as I mentioned a few entries ago we PR are often called on to handle and set up public events. And after a project fell through the Upper Circle of Inquest had some funds left over. So it was decided it was time to improve our relationship with the general populace. So it was time for a bake sale!
I saved you some and they are on there way. I had to send them through Inter-Inquest Shipping and Transport since I'm still not allowed to know where you are. They will be there eventually.
I was personally surprised as unlike the last time we did this I took a more active role so I was able to see all the Inquestors who actually stepped up to make something for it. You never really can tell who has that baking or cooking urge in them. The old Grandasura women who leads up Weaponization? Jumped at the chance to make her golem cookies again. The horrorshow lead of Questions and Interrogations with the robo eye and hand? A real good brownie maker. And that was just the two I saw humming away in Inquest HQ as they worked. For my part I was able to get us the entire area just outside Inquest HQ with some of the funds for the stall makers and providing them with sweets. There were also allowed a little bit of their normal space to still sell there things as I explained to them that a lot more Asura than normal would be there to buy their items.
After that was sorted out on the first day I returned home with ingredients to try and make some items myself. Thankfully the instruction were very clear as it was a little more complex than the normal stuff I make. A lot more fiddly frosting. But I did manage to make two trays of Logo Cookies. So they were roughly square diamond in shape. It was a shortbread base that I first covered with a black raspberry spread to get that black base. Then an outer perimeter with strawberry icing. With white chocolate squares inside of that that were well...decently straight. It was annoying to try to get them to be nice and perfect on that squishy base. That was one tray but I spent more time than I probably should have trying to make a second tray of PR cookies. So mostly the same thing but with blue berry icing replacing the middle white square. It didn't really work that well but hey they looked different and I was pleased with them. The runner of the sale kind of poo-poo-ed on them but some of the progeny who showed up really liked them at least and nearly bought me out entirely of them. Children really can pack away sugar.
I saved you one of each. I hope they eventually get there.
But after waking up, cleaning up, and eating a little proper food since I knew I was going to be stuffed with sweets today I headed over with my two containers. I got there an hour and a half before it was officially open but there were already some Golemancers there waiting as they talked about something important I'm sure. I spent the time before we opened properly setting up tables as well as cleaning up the space to make sure it was good before it was all covered in crumbs. With the last thirty minutes helping the stall owners we were using the space of set up there stalls. It was a very good showing I wish you could have been there. But we had everything from simple flavored rock candy and cookies to cakes mini golem sized and shape. And drinks from fizzy stuff to harder stuff for the adults. We tried to have a little for everyone. Which worked as nearly everything was bought and enjoyed but by not specializing in just one thing we kind of ran out of things to sell before we were supposed to end. Opps. But the runner and myself quickly worked out a plan and held an impromptu quiz time for everyone still around with a mini golem as a prize. I think it belonged to the team's who project fell through. While that was distracting everyone her and myself ran off to get some extra stuff. We were able to procure ourselves some prototype drinks for everyone to thank them for coming.
As far as I know it wasn't drugged in any way.
We handed them out as the quiz came to an end and those golemancers that had been there since before the start won the golem. They had also bought and enjoyed quite a lot but looked rather burnt out when we ended. At least they had fun. After thanking everyone for coming we wished them a good evening and that we would let them know the next time we were going to hold one of these. Which will be when another team fails and public perception flags for the Inquest as the Upper Circle sees these as very much beneath their interest until its something we really need to do. But eh. I enjoyed it.
I hope you also enjoy the sweets when you get them and some weren't taken out to be 'tested' before they get to you. I look forward to your next update. End recording.
