I'll scrap this later, but I wanted you all to know!
Howdy everyone!
If you remember this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30728463/ You now have an update!
Snicks had severe ear infections out of nowhere that had her ear cartilage calcifying and the skin was beginning to grow the ear shut. Her left ear is the one that was calcifying and closing itself, but the other was on a path towards doing the same.
I opened commissions and accepted donations to get her an ear surgery on the really bad ear, at least.
Thanks to you guys, I made enough for the left ear and made enough towards the right ear to get it at least thoroughly cleaned out while she was knocked out.
Her surgery took longer than the vets thought, but she pulled through.
When she came back to me, she was super high on medicines and was wobbling trying to stay standing. She had a pink bandage across her ear and a massive cone on her head.
I sat in the back seat of my mom's car and she laid across my lap for the ride home.
A week later she got her bandage off and we could finally see her ear for the first time.
It wasn't pretty (to us) but the doctor said it was healing wonderfully.
We medicated it as directed.
The cone stayed on for a month, just in case.
She became very good at bashing into the back of my knees to get me to move.
Her sisters were very kind during her healing and didn't bug her or mess with the cone or bandages.
She has since had multiple check-ups and post-op visits.
The vet surgeon said that the surgery and healing went as well as it possibly could have and told me that her right ear seemed to have really taken to the full cleaning and he saw no further issues with either ear.
My baby girl is now cone and bandage free and is back to her same goofy self.
She doesn't cry and shake, she doesn't dig at her ear like she lost a penny in it, she can play with her sisters without having to stop or wince or shake her head.
She's doing fantastic.
Thank all of you so so much, from the bottom of my heart.
Every re-post, share, retweet, reblog, commission and donation helped this to be possible.
My baby is healthy again because of your support.
Thank you.
