The thing about having wings large enough for actual flight is they become increasingly difficult to deal with on the ground. Sure they're fine when they're actually doing something, but when just walking around, there's always a giant area of dead zone where nothing can cross trailing him.
Such is the life of having wings. At least he can still grab things without having to awkwardly move membrane out of the way like a wyvern.
