Something simple I did the other night. The old Tyrannosaurus from DAZ by Digital-I. He's old, but cute. Still one of my favorites!
As I said, it's a simple scene. One directional light, an HDRI, and then postwork for the rain ^^

I did pop it into zBrush though to modify the mouth a bit. It's an adorable dinosaur to be sure, but its mouth is horrible looking xD

Someone furter down in the comments made me think he's also trying to look intimidating so people will still be afraid of him despite his bright and colorful appearance. "Awww you're too cute to be terrifying!" vs "Ooooh you're still a large theropod and thus terrifying!"
Basically, he roar to show people he's still a member of the tyrannosaurid family, and people should just be in awe of that even if they have to force themselves to look the part. Otherwise he'll be unhappy. :>

Everyone should just be in awe, even if they have to feign it. If they go "Awww" instead of "oooh" he might get mad and eat them. Or stomp off to sulk somewhere. Maybe eat them then stomp off to sulk.
