Octive Retro Sprite Challenge
Normally my brain works in it's own way, I usually gotta follow my own intuition with drawing to get something out. But I looked at two really old referenced sprites laying around that were done for practice back when I started out.
From there I thought it might be a fun challenge to try to copy a few more games I had experience with. After browing the spriter's resource for palettes and resolutions, I came up with 8 distinct game styles from a variety of systems and time periods. I gotta say it was crazy fun working on other detailed styles, especially having to figure ways to work my black and white cartoon self into new pallettes an proportions.
I'll leave it to anyone who wants something to do to figure out all 8 styles. Note that the gameboy one is a specific game and is probably the most obscure (despite it's basis on something decidedly not obscure.)
if you want more hints:
1. DOS - Not a specific game but rather a style of several. Save often for my sake, there's quite a lot of ways to lose this one.
2. GB - Cartoon madness in a stone fortress.
3. DOS - STOP POKING THE POSSUMMMmmmm!
4. SNES - Very rich fantasy stuffs, might have made you buy a multi-tap just for it.
5. PC - Not quite spelunker/spelunky.
6. Various Platforms - Probably obvious, one of the most detailed pixel styles.
7. Many platforms but NES used - you got one hour to figure it out!
8. Genesis - I like running and breaking TVs.

4. The multitap comment and swing arc makes me think Secret of Mana.
