The last part.....this happens with those people who get mad at anything and 'leave'. Then secretly create a new account and hope nobody notices....If you're one of those people reading this and you do this, we noticed, roll our eyes, and deal with you because we know you aren't going away....unfortunately...

To these types of people.. Good riddance.
Had someone on steam do this with my character and gruh.. Infuriating. Had to report them to steam and started slapping my name onto any image I used on a forum anywhere.
I know a lot of people likely go through this phase at some point when being young and new to the internet but there's a difference between reacting like a brat and understanding/apologizing when it's pointed out to them that what they're doing is wrong.

It is true. Making a design of your own can be very fun, rewarding and doesn't have to cost much if anything. Or if you aren't that creative you can look for artists that like to design or perhaps consider getting an adopt.
Sadly some are a bit more susceptible to Envy. Which is when you get this.

every single comics with your dino is so true. after seeing them, i can laugh so hard but when you really have a person next to you in that moment who is doing that and you need to argue with them... you wanna kill someone.

No clue what art thieves or identity thieves even expect... like dude you took someone else's shit. Whether it's just a furry character or someones Otherkin identity, no one likes a faker, and when you're found out, do you really expect to be forgiven? Just use a shred of creativity and be unique (or not, but at least don't steal someones design) instead of such scumbag tactics.
This makes me feel very self conscious about having characters that are inspired by and/or resemble another, more prolific furry's sona.
For example the "name and color change" mentioned above.
Like... there's only so many ways you can create, for example, a border collie or a cougar pattern Chakat.
And when I'm a fan of artists who have, say, border collies or cougar Chakats as their 'sonas, I can't help but not want to step on them with my own chars, but ideally without also going into the creepy whole "special snowflake" territory either...

That reminds me: I need to update the name of my MLP ponysona.
For years, I've given him a name I was unaware someone was already using. But I can't think of something appropriate that I know won't also already be in use.
It's often been unclear to me how much of artwork involving famous fan characters has had approval from the haracter's creator beforehand. Some pieces seem to exist in a vacuum, with no sign anyone asked for them or that the creator even knows of the artist.
For years, I've given him a name I was unaware someone was already using. But I can't think of something appropriate that I know won't also already be in use.
