neither. she's an organic cybertronian, which means that her body adapted itself from a cybertronian protoform to fit in with humans. the parts are mostly meat and bone, but they're configured like the innards of a transformer. she's apparently metal in the bits where the process produced things that can't be naturally replicated in humans.
of course, they gave her about a half-episode where we actually knew this before pumping herself full of duex ex machina (literally, she plugged a chunk of the allspark into herself, and it created the transformers) so about there the best explanation is "god did it, wave it off". it's one of the two weakest point of the show, though.
and yes i make a habit of wandering into month old conversations and actually contributing. got a problem?

I just LOVE the whole picture! The style of the art, the coloring, the lighting and shading in it, the expressions of everyone in it, and more!
I just wonder what she would look like if you drew her transformed in that awesome style?
Have you thought of drawing her all robot/human girl-like? Maybe even just powering up to blast a Decepticon while protecting her father? (Like in one episode I think.)
