There interesting thing in the audio production part of art which is mostly to audio engineering for mixers and masters but is a clever tool, it is known as phase shifting, where you take the wave of the audio file and invert it, and if the track is one to one and you put them together, the waves cancel out, but if you have something on a version, for instance a vocal variation of said music track and had a instrumental without vocals, flip the wave file of one of the variations, line them up one to one, the thing that should be left out is the vocals of the track being the only thing not being phased out...

The initial idea for your character made me remember that...
