I do apologize how short these chapters are but there's only so much I can do with kids. They're not like teens or adults who can think more complicated than a child. But after the next two months, the chapters will get a lot more interesting.

Love on Island
Fun Sports Day
But before that could happen, during the month of May, the school on the island was having an all field day. It was day of sporting events for the children. Just a little something since school for this year was almost over. Besides swimming, there was running, throwing, and other things to work all the parts of the body. Jack was ready for this as he remembered something very similar that happened last year like this. Alexis of course was ready to do her best. Their friends were in the same boat as well. Being in the same class, they were on the same team as it was classes that competed in this. It would also help see who had an interest in what for future sport teams that would begin to be looked into next year. But for actual teams, that wouldn’t start until what could be the seventh grade and vs. the other island native children who weren’t a part of the school system.
“A good day!” Alexis declared when they arrived at the beach where the school was held.
“I’m ready,” Jack stated.
The classes all got organized after checking in with their teachers. Some adults of the kids were here as well such as Jasmine and her husband Chad, Mercedes and her husband Atem, Ava and her husband Eric, and China and her husband Peter. Their kids were even here and spread out among some of the classes. First up was the jogging around a set up track. The goal was to get the best possible time. Jack and Alexis’s class lined up with their opponent. The other classes were spread out among the other events and would rotate. The starting signal was given and the kids were off. Alexis wasn’t slowed down by her tail as it was still small. She looked forward ahead with a smile. Jack was right by her side. He had a grin as well.
“Whew!” the male folfsky stated when he and Alexis made it to the end.
“That was fun!” the female sea otter declared with a grin. “What’s next?”
What came next was a break and then throwing. Then was swimming which meant a quick change into swimsuits. But then lunch time happened. The rest of the events went very well but by the end of the day, the kids were tired. It was a good thing this happened on a Friday so the little ones could get some rest during the weekend. But with this event over, they and their parents could feel it. School was almost over and summer vacation would begin again. Jack and Alexis begin to have talks with their parents of what this one would include. They were ready for it and their friends as well along with the last day of school.

I have distinct memories of doing something like this when I was younger which is how I came up with the idea.
