"What are you doing!?" Boris yelled to the Necromancer behind them, narrowly avoiding an arrow to the head.
The ambush had locked the group into a corner, and the Aasimar struggled to hold the creatures back with her own magic while the Rouge did her best to drive them off. But the creatures kept up, a seemingly endless swarm. Vinessa briefly looked from the symbol she had drawn on the ground to meet the eyes of the Dragonborn.
"I'm doing what I can."
"How many spells do you have left?!"
"I don't know."
The rouge finally turned to her.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW??!" she shouted, managing to sink her blade into one of the creatures. The Necromancer stood and grabbed her staff, only speaking a quick spell before looking back at the Dragonborn who had taken a step closer as if to stop her.
"If it happens, you know what to do." she said lowly, a green current flowing through the staff.
She slammed the base into the middle f the symbol, and time seemed to slow as there was a low rumble rising from the ground. The fight itself paused, all beings now watching the ground below them as it seemed to split. With a sudden burst of energy, two massive, skulled creatures erupted from the ground with ear piercing screeches. They thrashed momentarily before going still, their breaths coming as low snarls. But all the trio could focus on now was the Necromancer, watching in fearful anticipation; anticipation that turned to a strange relief as the green, electrified magic formed a '1' above her head. She only looked up, her eyes scanning over the wave of creatures that proceeded with their attack. They had enough time.
"FALL BACK!!" the Rouge yelled, quickly kicking away one of the creatures before running towards the Necromancer. The Dragonborn followed, and, with a final whip of Vine Magic, the Aasimar made her way, nearly collapsing.
Vinessa looked at the two monsters next to her, and simply nodded.
"Go."
Not the best but I do have a bit of art block so this is what I can do :'D
Anyway
Lovely Wendigo/Necromancer goodness for the D&D/RPG AU ouo
Unfortunately, because of her own curse, she only has a 5-spell limit before she transforms, and if they FORGET what number she's on, tensions are pretty high. Thankfully her magic always has a knack for reminding her with the numbers appearing over her head for a few seconds on a countdown. After it hits '1', the next spell will cause her own transformation. Then, after she transforms back, the number '5' will appear and she'll be on a count down again.
Boris will often use his own bit of magic with the flute to try and calm her. The other two can help a bit, but their only abilities for a giant flesh-eating monster are constraint and trying to knock unconscious. So Boris is really the only one who can ACTUALLY help in the situation. :'D
The two 'creatures' are Monster(front) and Ahiga(back), two of the various wendigo-related creatures Vinessa can summon. :D
