A work in progress, as noted above.
I haven't thought of how his upper body will be armored, so I'll post it now to see if I get any feedback.
Though essentially his torso will be left unprotected, while his arms will be armored. It follows his battle style. He purposely leaves obvious openings for his enemies to take advantage of, though he uses his agility to dodge what he can, frustrating his opponent as they try (if they attempt) to take advantage of his opening. Though if and when they finally connect, his defenses will already be up, offering a quick and fierce riposte.
The sword on his side is his reverse-blade, the weapon he normally fights with, though rarely drawn, when it does, all that is seen is a glimmering flash before it's safely tucked back in it's protective saya.
The katana on his back, his father's No-Dachi, is sealed away, keeping it's tremendous energy and power at bay. He's forbidden to use it considering misuse of the weapon can destroy his body and potentially kill him if he's not ready or prepared. It's rumored to have the power to obliterate mountains with a simple unsheathing, it's energy so massive that it alone can crater the earth and leave shock-waves reaching miles and miles apart.
Legendary within it's own time, only Grey will know when and where he is allowed to use it. For now, it serves as a curious symbol to those who fight him. Why doesn't he use it? Why won't he use it!?

And that's somewhat my inspiration to do something similar. Though as well as decoration, those little beads actually serve a combat and general purpose as well.
He can infuse the little orbs with his energy, scatter them about and can form a brief forcefield with the energy between each one. He can propel them as little projectiles to deal damage or distract. For general purposes, he can position them by a whim of a thought, infuse them with energy and can create small "stepping platforms". There's a lot more those beads can do other than their general looks! :3

He's been a persona for as long as I can remember, even back before I've known of the fandom. For a while I've been meaning to revamp him and give him more definition considering he, alike all of my characters, are constantly evolving as if they're living through their own lives.
There's plenty more in mind and hopefully I'll get them out in a timely manner.

The details on the braid/rope/sword hilt are just amazing. You've tightened up your already amazing hair, you can really see the motion and flow. I absolutely cannot wait to see this finished. Might have to shake you for a print of it.
