First the bad news. It is with regret I announce that a hard drive crash and resulted in the loss of a piece I have been working on: "A Very Britfox Christmas". Which means unless I find time between now and Christmas, I might not be able to supply you with a festive theme.
HOWEVER - to fill the void between now and the completion of an upcoming collaboration (oh yes) - I present "Svix's Telescope", a song written for
svix and included on my Postcards album, which is still available for download. This piece is full of ethereal imagery which I'll explain now... take my paw and step with me through space.
Imagine you're in control of your own little telescope. This paints a picture of the galaxies you see through your super telescope. It begins with an ethereal tone, as you explore deep space, and then a glockenspiel indicates the stars. Then, as you venture through the mysterious space wastelands, portrayed by the synth and bass, you spy even more unearthly worlds represented by the cellos and the piano, which gradually get louder and change time signatures from 11/8 to 12/8 before returning to the glockenspiel and synths and an altered piano line. This concludes Part I, and lasts three minutes.
Part II kicks in with cymbals, strings, piano and flutes, as you suddenly spot an ominous star, a supernovic galactic eruption which is over in the blinking of an eye. (40 seconds, to be exact). The pink rays emitted from this collapsing hypernova are wild, and unnaturally fast paced... terrifying to be a part of, majestic to watch.
Part III concludes the piece, and is a peaceful conclusion, as your eyes come to rest on a heavenly nebula in the depths of space. This lasts two minutes and has flutes, strings, piano, glockenspiel and synths, and is a serene closer. The piece closes just short of six minutes.
Enjoy!

And a good job it does of suggesting a journey through space! It would be appropriate to play something like
