As I post this of Darwin testing the height of the fence, which is 8' and he almost leaped it, I have to stop and smile at his enjoyment of life. He is laying inside the foyer right now, and I am not sure he is going to make it.
This pixture is almost 4 years old, when he was about 5 ish. I think he had another stroke yesterday as he seems to be just hanging on. I am happy he has made it for 9 years, which is old for a wolf, but I am not sure he is gonna pull through this time. He looked at me as if to say, Dad im about done.

I have recovered wolves for almost 30 years now, I can accpet the passing, though they are all my children so its really rough sometimes, esp. if they are like Darwin. He is the sweetest Alpha wolf I have ever had, playful and smart and just loving to every one.
I will miss him, but if its his time, I wish that Mother would come to him swiflty and peacefully. He deserves that much. But time will tell, he may not be done on this earth yet.

Thank you. he is a bit more alert at the moment, however, he is loosing movement of his hind legs. Which has happed to other of my wolves who suffer strokes. After 30 years you kind know the signs. I hope he pulls through or passes quickly.
He gave kisses today, which is a wonderful sign that he has not totally given up yet.
