My friends and I are Tom Waits fans and we made up this inside joke as to how Tom Waits travels by murder of crows.
And I just had to draw that. And thus this silly picture is born.

He's a singer that my friends and I have been weirdly fantarding over. He started out doing kind of jazzy music and then moved on towards more experimental music. He started doing stuff in the 1970's, I think, and is still making music to this day. His songs (or at least his most current variety) are often dark and depressing. He also often uses crow imagery (thus the picture).
He's one of those artists that people either love or can't stand to listen to, due to his voice, which is extremely gravelly and harsh. In fact, his voice has been described as sounding "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car."... or someone else less artistically described it as "a voice that reminded him of a cat right before it was about to throw up".

I thought Waits' hair was darker, but maybe that's because his album photos seem to favour black and white photography.
Interesting actor -- I liked him a lot in the Imaginarium of Whosis Whatever... as Satan. And as the inenter in Mystery Men. Initially I liked his more experimental, "post-industrial" music but lately my taste has been mellowing and I like his early, more melodic work better.
