You know its bad when you literally need a college degree just to pop the hood.


I honestly miss the cars that were pre-1985 and computerised. So much easier to work on.

The mechanic is explaining about the expected lifespan of certain costly parts, and the car owner has to make a tough decision about whether to keep fixing it or throw in the towel

I still miss my Corolla, I sometimes wonder if I should've spent big money on it, it needed at least $2000 spent on it and I did however want at least a driver airbag and anti-lock brakes. If I'd had the room I'd have kept it but I only have room for one car, sad day when I had to trade it in.
The new car while nice isn't as engaging to drive but it's much better on longer trips.

Corolla, eh? I put over 730,000kms on a 1983 AE71 Corolla over 14 years and many of those were hard and tough kilometres (including a 'challenge' trip up to Birdsville)... most reliable car I ever owned and she is sadly missed.

Now that's a lot of mileage :) A true champion of a car by the sound of it.
