Dad jokes are SUPPOSED to be cringy, that's what makes them Dad Jokes.

It's all part of growing up. laughing at Dad Jokes because they're silly, then developing a more sophisticated sense of humor and realizing Dad jokes are lame and cringeworthy, then, MUCH later, learning to appreciate the inherent irony of lame humor.

It's like of like candy. At first you only like sweet, then you decide that "only sweet" is boring and you seek out sour,
