I've been growing them since I was a little kid.

There's a great variety of aesthetically pleasing types, and they tend to be easy to care for and propagate.

do you know of any that can grow in low light? i dont have much light here on the east coast now ;;

I can't think of any in particular. Like most plants, they tend to like to get at least a decent amount of indirect light. I've found that a good thing to do is to rotate them around every few weeks or so if you don't have some good light in a particular spot.

If you've got a little space with some good light outdoors that can work, but of course they're particularly susceptible to rotting if they freeze, so if it gets really cold, fashion some sort of cover or mini greenhouse type structure for them.

The other most important thing is to let them just barely dry out between waterings to avoid rot as well.

Succulents are addictive, careful, you start with one then you have 10....

haha!! that is why i havent gotten any for myself.. i dont think i'd stop planting more and more and more :P
