Song used: Golden Sun - A Little Friendship
Story:
The sunrays were still offering a warming comfort despite the sun was setting and inviting the stillness of the night. The soft russling of leaves could be heard above as a gentle breeze swept by, accompanied by the soothing splashes of water against a sanded shoreline. If this was the life after death it wasn't so bad, the visitor thought were he was lying. He had started to regain consciousness and was becoming more aware of what was around him. Being sober, he had never experienced a hangover, but the way he felt was probably not too far off. He also felt he was was soaking wet for some reason. If it weren't for the sun still offering some warmth, he'd probably be shaking his teeth from freezing by now.
His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by what sounded like coughing. As he opened his eyes and turned his head towards the noise, he could identify two blurry shapes - one, based on the red color, he guessed was Scarlett sitting hunched with another unknown individual crouched beside her. He squinted his eyes trying to get a better view, but to no avail. His glasses were missing, which made him close to blind to everything except objects close to him.
"Do not worry, you are safe now", the unknown character spoke with a soft and gentle voice.
Scarlett tried to speak but got interrupted by another series of caughs.
"Your friend is alright. He is recovering over there..", the mysterious indiviudal was barely able to complete his sentence as Scarlett got up and stumbled towards the visitor. "Please, you must not push yourself!"
The giant fox collapsed on all fours as she reached the visitor. "Hey! Are you hurt!? Please, tell me you're okay!", her voice was hoarce and concernced, the coughs still interrupting her voice.
As Scarlett came into his field of vision, the visitor quickly noted that she was soaking wet from top to toe, her fur and hair still dripping. Her expression was equally distressed as it was exhausted. He smiled, letting out a chuckle, hoping it would help calm her down. "I feel like somebody just tossed me inside a washing machine and let it run at full speed", he said jokingly. "Apart from that I think I'm fine"
Without warning Scarlett pulled the visitor in for a cold, watery embrace. "Are you serious right now!? Making jokes when we both almost lost our lives?", she laughed in relief as she held him closer. "I'm just glad you're alright!"
Trapped in the fox's arms, the visitor returned the hug whilst trying to ignore the smell of wet fox fur. "All thanks to you, I assume?"
"Well..", Scarlett turned to the stranger who was observing them from a short distance.
"My part in your rescue was only a minor one. I simply made sure the river would not grab hold of you again", the stranger said gently. "Oh, and I believe these belong to you? They look far too small to fit your friend", the stranger reached his hand out to the visitor, his glasses resting in the stranger's palm.
The visitor carefully picked up the glasses and put them on. "Thank you! I would have been quite lost without..", he stopped mid sentence as he finally could see who the stranger was.
Before the visitor and Scarlett stood a feline, a lynx more specifically. The cat was rather muscular yet retained an overall slim physique, making it safe to assume he was male. His green eyes emitted a gentle kindness which added to the feline's overall calm expression. Albeit he was wearing a monk's outfit of east Asian design, the most defining details were the specific markings in his face - a sun like pattern on his forehead, mountain shaped squares just above his eyebrows and stripes extending underneath his eyes like sunrays reflected on a dew covered field.
It was these details that the visitor had recognized, knowing exactly who this feline was.
"Is something wrong?", the lynx didn't seem to recognize the visitor the way Scarlett had when they first met.
Knowing his character and their background very well, the visitor got up somewhat staggering from his place and made his way over to the lynx. He then placed his hands behind the feline's jaw, gently pulling the cat's head forward and bumped his forehead with his own. In response, the lynx purred softly, confirming his trust in the human.
Scarlett was silently watching as the lynx and human communicated, but her face was clearly expressing a great deal of confusion and curiousity to what was going on.
The visitor turned to Scarlett as he stepped back a bit from the lynx. "Sorry about that Scarlett, some clarification is in order I believe", he gestured towards the feline. "This is Rhonin, another character of mine!"
