His family have a demon of shadow and rage sealed within them that gets passed down each generation. If the current bearer of the demon gets too angry, the demon is able to temporarily assert control of the host’s body, and being very very angry about its long imprisonment, it responds by going on a rampage whenever it has any power at all.
Jomei grew up to be the most violent the family had ever had. Some rumors even claimed him to be the demon itself, reborn and thirsty for vengeance after the long imprisonment."
