This was originally going to be a space station setting with a window that overlooked space, but after finishing the background, I was so happy with how it turned out, that I didn’t have the heart to cover any parts of it, so I decided to leave it as is.

This tutorial covers most of it. The changes I made were:
1: I put a gradient of dark blue and black layer on the bottom.
2: After finishing the small stars, I used the "Fuzzy Select tool/ Magic Tool" to select the black around the stars and then cut it out.
