Reploids - Robofying the Furry Fandom, v.01
Since I've been on my lifelong Mega Man X kick, I've always wanted to draw some reploids of my own. I've come up with a few here and there, mostly during my childhood and adolecence. Haven't touched on it since then.
Well, I'm doing it again! I'm using myself and some friends here. Turned them into reploids/mavericks/irregulars. :D Left to right:
spelunkersal as Neuro Lapight equipped with: Shock Tendril (S. Tendril) and Kinesis Juggle
dreamous as Typhoon Hydrogon equipped with: Whirl Drifter (W. Drifter) and Tsunami Crush
drakedragon as Terran Drake equipped with: Terra Punch (T. Punch) and Megaton Quake
treiii as Orbitas Triceraton equipped with: Heavy Satellite (Heavy S.) and Force Shredder
I will be taking commissions of these sometime soonish! These are SO much fun! So keep an eye out in the future for when I'll open up for them if you want to see your fursona as a reploid robotic thing! :D They should double nicely as badges too. ^^

As Sal said, Reploids are free-thinking robots. The term Reploid refers to how they were replicated from Megaman X's data after he was discovered in a capsule in Dr. Light's dismantled lab. Because X is the most unique robot ever created (he can think and feel like a human and make his own choices in life as well as continuously grow in ability), copying his data was something they wanted to do. A lot of people find it funny that the Reploid bosses in the games are all animals of some kind when X resembles a human. How do you get Storm Owl or Tidal Whale from a humanlike robot, they ask.
I've been impressed with your artwork for a long time but I just wanted to point out that this was a really cool idea. Considering how organic and natural your regular characters look I was surprised you were able to pull off a more mechanical look for these, but I really do think you did it well. It would be really great to see more of these. I have no idea why I wasn't watching you already, but I'm definitely doing it if only for this!
