Yuri Ivanov was a simple man. He immigrated from Oymyakon, Russia (the coldest inhabitable place on Earth) in 2005 and settled in Omina City. He worked as a construction worker and met his future wife, Laura, after a steel beam got dislodged and almost killed her. Yuri pulled her out of danger and saved her life. They have been inseparable ever since and now have a 10 year old daughter, Diana

After the DNAftershock, Yuri was turned into a Polar Bear Hybrid and possessed Cryokinetic Abilities. At first he frightened his wife and daughter with his new form but they saw past the animal he turned into and remember who he really was. Unfortunately they wouldn't get a chance to stay together for long since a quarantine was put in place and Laura and Diana were taken away, leaving Yuri alone and in the cold again.

Yuri's attire is meant to keep himself warm from the cold he exerts and his boots have spikes to keep him level on the icy surfaces he sometimes creates.
