wonderful sense of motion in this one. and gold is fun. are you using gold marker, paint/ink, or leaf?

I was using a gold leaf pen thingie...but it ran out so this is one of the last of the real gold ACEO. I am now playing with different metallic pens and paint.

well, they each have a different look and feel. Have you tried using leaf over a gesso base? I gives a really nice raised effect for very little work.

I was thinking of trying that...looks like hard and tiny work..but I just might try it out.

mix the gesso thick and make sure it dries through. Otherwise it squishes and makes a mess. Been there, done that. Had to re-do the scroll, tho' it was before I callig'ed so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Alternatively, you can make it thinner and just paint over the area a few times to build up to the height you want. This works better for lines than dots.

Can be tiny work, but also can have so amazing results. always worth trying a few times before deciding it isn't your cuppa.
