I do a lot of inking in photoshop, but this was done in painter.

whats good about inking in painter? Does it allow you smoother lines?

Maybe it's not true, but in my experience it gives me more control over my line quality; plus, you have a really good variety of tools at your disposal.

Is there a nice way to say "I really wish people would stop doing this"? Look, I am sorry that I am saying this just to you because, really, you are not the first person to obliquely indicate that I am somehow perpetrating some kind of character theft by drawing a character that looks like X (X being some character that I have no idea whose it is or what it looks like).

I was commissioned to draw this by someone who gave me a reference for the character, which presumably was theirs. I am sorry if it resembles a character you know of. I did not create it.

I am doubly sorry if you were saying this as a joke, but what with the "omg this is my character don't copy!!" zeitgeist these days, and the difficulty of interpreting people ON THE INTERNET, it's impossible to tell.

Er sorry for the confusion. Yes its mostly said in jest. Also I do fully understand that its a commissioned work, so it's mostly directed at the commissioner. As I said, the piece itself is still very nice, regardless of any "omg don't copy!" things various folks may have. =D

Now, now. I think we've beat this dead horse enough. Matters have been discussed between this one and I, and similarities are a lot more superficial than they appear.
